We would like to encourage businesses in the region to take part in the latest Thames Valley Business Barometer which has now opened and runs until early May.

The Thames Valley Business Barometer is a collaboration between BDO LLP and C8 Consulting, providing a snapshot of business and economic confidence in the Thames Valley twice a year.

As well as focusing on economic confidence, growth and employment intentions, the Spring 2019 Barometer will be putting the spotlight on employee wellbeing; the importance of wellbeing in the workplace is being increasingly recognised, and many companies are looking at practices to increase the wellbeing of their staff.

The latest barometer survey is now live and will be open to Thames Valley businesses for six weeks. Survey results will be published and circulated in June 2019.

How to balance your telephony priorities

It can seem like an insurmountable task to balance supplier consolidation, technology change and facilitating mobile working, all at once. But the rapidly changing world of digital business will not wait for you to figure it all out.

Today’s IT decision makers are facing a rapidly changing digital landscape. The priorities of IT departments within businesses are evolving, driven by three distinct pressures:

  1. The move from the ground to the cloud:- We’re not using dial up anymore. The wide availability of high bandwidth data connections has made cloud technology readily available to businesses of all sizes. Many are moving their on-premise infrastructure – servers, backups, PBXs and so on – to external cloud providers
  2. The rise of the mobile workforce:-  The way people want to work has changed; flexible hours and remote working are becoming the norm. Employees need to be able to access company systems wherever they are.  And IT departments must ensure all professional tools and applications are accessible across a range of personal devices.
  3. More to do with less people to do it with:- According to research by Computer Weekly, IT departments have shrunk by as much as 75%.  At the same time, the IT department is being asked to do more than ever, expanding its remit into a more strategic role.

In today’s digital workplace, the end-user dictates how they want to interact with the business. The main goal is therefore to make this as easy as possible, ensuring that all the applications and tools that workers need are accessible wherever they are, through a device of their choice.

Can augmented intelligence truly protect your mobile

and endpoint weak spots?

As businesses make their way toward becoming truly digitized, mobile technology has become a critical business component. As a result, we are starting to see an increase in the number and intensity of cybersecurity threats targeting mobile devices and endpoints.

Unified endpoint management (UEM) has become the preferred management style, providing a higher level of management functionality and more effective security capabilities.

Among the most important advances in UEM is the integration of augmented intelligence and cognitive technology.

BtL MDM provides a cloud-based, comprehensive UEM solution that helps IT organizations manage and secure a comprehensive range of endpoints, end users, and everything in between—including their applications, content and data. BtL MDM delivers robust UEM capabilities across all major computing platforms, including iOS, macOS, Android and Windows devices
