Internet

There are different types of broadband available to businesses depending on their location. The most common form of broadband is asymmetric digital subscriber line (ADSL). BtL offer a wide range of broadband connections, which offer different speeds depending on the coverage in your area and can also be used to help against redundancy issues.

We work with leading ISPs like MDNX, Griffin, Easynet, Verizon, and exponential-e so you can be sure we will recommend the most suitable ISP(s) for your business given your usage requirements and budget.

Our broadband services available are:

  • ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line)
Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) is similar to the DSL technology. With ADSL, information is downloaded more rapidly than it is uploaded. The speed of an ADSL connection depends on how far your premises are from the telephone exchange. Maximum download speeds vary from 2Mbps to 24Mbps depending on the chosen ADSL connection. Maximum upload speeds generally range up to 1.5Mbps. Read more…
  • ADSL2+ Annex M
ADSL2+ Annex M broadband is designed for companies that require a higher upload speed compared to ADSL. ADSL2+ Annex M reduces the normal download speed of an ADSL connection in order to provide up to double the upload speed. ADSL2+ Annex M will provide the best possible speed that your telephone line will support, up to 2.5mbps upload speed by trading some of the download speed. Read more…
  • Local Loop Unbundling
Local Loop Unbundling (LLU) services still use ADSL lines, but LLU providers use their own network rather than the BT (British Telecom) network. This means LLU providers can provide increased speeds, lower costs and greater reliability. Typical speeds on LLU ADSL2+ are up to 24mbps download/up to 1.5mbps upload. Read more…
  • Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC)
Fibre to the Cabinet (FTTC) is part fibre optic cable and part copper infrastructure and is capable of delivering download speeds of up to 40Mbps and upload speeds of up to 20Mbps. Read more on our FTTC services…
  • FTTC Ethernet
FTTC Ethernet uses the same FTTC technology from the customer to the exchange. From there FTTC Ethernet uses the same back haul technology and routes, from the BT exchange to the ISP as EFM, offering uncontended access offering symmetric speeds of up to 20Mb/s. Read more…
  • Fibre Ethernet
Fibre Ethernet provides a circuit end-to-end, from Premises to POP (Point of Presence) or premises to premises (Point-to- Point). Fibre Ethernet is a symmetrical bandwidth solution that has lower overhead, greater throughput and higher reliability than all broadband (ADSL/SDSL) services. Fibre Ethernet provides flexible and scalable bandwidth options with up to 20Mbps symmetrical speeds.Read more…
  • FTTP
FTTP provides a fibre optic connection all the way from the telephone exchange to your premises. FTTP’s 100% Fibre connection offers lightning speeds and improves the performance of your internet connection. BtL’s FTTP offering Is based around our partnership with CityFibre. Click here to find out more
  • Leased Lines & Ethernet Circuits
Larger businesses or businesses with specialist data requirements may want to consider other options such as a dedicated leased line or Ethernet connections. Our Leased Line circuits offer speeds ranging from 10mbps and up to 100mbps and our Ethernet Circuits offer speeds up to 10Gbps symmetrical. Both are suitable for direct Internet access, MPLS VPNs and point to point connections. We offer Service Level Agreement (SLA) on our leased circuits from 99.9% and 99.99% with a fail-over option.
